Kara Cunningham- Welcome! Group fitness classes have always been my motivational way of staying healthy and fit.  I have a passion for health and believe that exercise, along with diet and other natural approaches, can help you become and stay a happier person.  I am commited to helping people meet  and sustain their individual health and fitness goals. I am currently certified in: CPR and First Aid, Indoor Cycling (Spinning), Yoga (Basic Level), and Zumba.  I have fourteen years of ballet experience and have participated in organized sports since I was four years old.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know you!!

 

Danielle Dougherty, RYT (Yoga) - I love the power of yoga to relax, connect, and heal on so many levels, and want to help pass it on.  Our days our packed full of constant running, and taking the time to care for ourselves is essential.  But if you need to get the blood pumpin' in a Zumba class - drop off the kids with me for kids yoga!   Kids feel just as stressed out as we do being shuttled from place to place.  Let them enjoy some down time while you pump it up.  Join the yoga revolution! 

 

Ellen Fiore (Zumba) - I'm a native of Blair county and have been in the fitness business for many years. Once I tried Zumba I was hooked. When I hear the music, I can't help but want to move. The choreography is so much fun. You don't need to know how to dance.... Just feel the music.  So join me and "Lose it on the dance floor".

 

Cameron Marasco (Zumba) - I love to dance and I love to party! That's why I knew Zumba was for me! When I hear upbeat music, I cannot stop myself from moving and grooving... come join in on the FUN and ZUMBA!!


Michelle Metzgar (Indoor Cycling) - I started taking Spinning classes about three years ago.  After the first week of classes, I was hooked! Needless to say, I fell in love with Indoor Cycling... the atmosphere, the bikes, the music, and the people who share my passion for riding! Cycling is a great workout, but you have fun while doing it. I was never the kind of girl to be able to stay on a treadmill for an hour at a time, I needed more! So, cycling it was...and I wanted to share my love for cylcing with everyone else.  July 2011, I became certified to teach Indoor Cycling, and the rest is history! I look forward to meeting all of you, so come get a fun workout in with me!


Jayme Orr (Indoor Cycling) - Greetings All! I’m so excited to teach you the art of indoor cycling!  I have been participating in cycling class for almost seven years and recently received my certification to finally go and teach.  I love cycling both indoors and out, especially in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. If you have any questions about routes or bikes, feel free to ask away.  I promise to give you a challenging, efficient workout that is both fun and invigorating.  I will see you in class!

 

Jennifer Park (Zumba, Yoga, Dance) Greetings to all the movers and shakers out there! I've been dancing ever since I can remember! I can't even imagine life without dance. I began with competitive gymnastics and graduated to classical ballet, studying seriously with the school of Cleveland Ballet and then Pittsburgh ballet in my college years. After a hiatus to raise my two children, I joined and performed with Allied Motion Modern Dance company for 7 years. Modern dance is my passion and I remain a guest choreographer with the Ivyside Dance Ensemble at PSU Altoona. I also can't leave out my passion for the Argentine Tango. Can't beat it! Plus the many joys of ballroom. I hope you'll come dance with me! I'm certified in Senior Yogafit, Zumba Gold and Zumba, and naturally I bring in the many elements of ethnic dance and contemporary dance, from core strengthening, creative flexibility (usually peppered with Yoga flavoring!), tension and relaxion, effort and flow, authentic movement and improvisation. Dance to be fit; dance to be healthy; dance to be happy!


Kim Potopa, RYT (Yoga) - Shortly after enrolling in college, I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression and I was introduced to Yoga to help me relax and to control my anxiety with breathe control.  I continued my practice off and on for the next ten years.  When I had my second child I suffered from Post-Partum Depression.  I immediately started to practice every morning, which changed me mentally and spiritually.  When I moved to Atlanta in 2011, I became passionate and committed to my practice in Hot Yoga.  My understanding of the physical application deepened as did my appreciation for the science and intelligence of my body and soul.  These experiences lead me to my path as a Yoga Teacher.  In 2011, I started Yoga Teacher Training with Anjali Yoga at Bloom and Wellness in Altoona and graduated in September of 2012.  I am grateful to everyone who motivated and believed in me.  As we move and produce breath and the experience of ourselves our yoga practice becomes a ritual with our bodies.  Namaste!

 

Jessica (“Jessy”) Schocker, RYT (Guest Yoga Teacher)-  I began practicing yoga in 2006 when, as a graduate student in Philadelphia, I was looking for a way to manage stress and balance my running and cycling with what I thought was just some stretching.  I was quickly drawn in by the intense physical and philosophical nature of yoga to begin a regular practice. After moving out west and immersing myself in many styles of yoga in places like Boulder, Aspen, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Yosemite, and Denver, I found my “yoga home” in Anusara inspired yoga; I have never felt so strong or healthy. When I moved home to Pennsylvania, I completed my 200-hour teacher training in May of 2012. My regular practice of yoga both on and off the mat has positively influenced every aspect of my life.  I have even been able to integrate my yoga practice with my career as a professor at Penn State Berks. As a result of implementing a yoga program for inner city youth, I conduct research on the academic and emotional growth of children who practice yoga during their school day. My yoga classes will inspire you to properly align and strengthen your body, while encouraging you to play and be light. Om Shanti!

 

Courtney Stroup (Zumba)- I love Zumba! To me it's a chance to get together with friends, dance to great music, and have fun! After having three kids, I needed to get back into shape.  I work full-time, so I wanted a routine that was both physically satisfying and fun at the same time.  Thanks to Zumba, three years and forty pounds later, I'm in the best shape of my life! You don't have to be a dancer to Zumba.  You just need to move your body and listen to the music.  But the most important part of my Zumba classes is to have fun!  So ditch the workout and join the party!
